An employee who worked for Attala County for over 50 years was honored Monday at the final 2023 meeting of the board of supervisors.
Luther D. Levy was presented a resolution by the board for his years of service in the central construction department of Attala County.
“I know a lot of times we [supervisors] called you last minute to come look at something and you never failed to show up,” said District 5 Supervisor Tim Pinkard before presenting Levy with his resolution. “I want you to know we all appreciate it.”
Former Attala County Supervisors Charles Fancher, Troy Hodges, and Eddie Womble were in attendance and all spoke about Levy’s time with the county.
“I’d just like to thank you for your service…” said Fancher. “You never had to worry about Luther halfway doing anything.”
Levy began working for Attala County July 5, 1973.
During his tenure, he worked with 24 different supervisors and three different county engineers.
