Water’s Truck and Trailer now offers services for electric buses, having recently installed a specialized lift and charging stations.
The electrical hub for charging the buses was constructed by Dusty Pee and Wamble’s Machine Shop and Equipment Rental, with the electrical work being completed by David Thornton Electrical. Water’s funded and installed the charging stations themselves to accommodate the growing presence of electric buses in the area.
Kevin Collins, a long-time Water’s employee, has been trained as the Master Technician for these buses. His training included online courses and hands-on experience in Kosciusko and advanced courses in Chicago, IL.
Marketing Director Shasta Dodd highlights that electric buses offer cleaner, sustainable fuel alternatives, quieter operation, and eligibility for grants and rebates, helping school districts transition to newer vehicles. These buses also feature regenerative braking, which helps extend battery life and brake durability.
Service Manager Jeff White emphasized, “Water’s Truck and Trailer continues to stand out by offering ongoing education for school district technicians and advocating for transportation directors.” In addition to school buses, they also service 18-wheelers, medium-duty trucks, wreckers, and commercial vehicles.
