Both the Kosciusko Whippets and Ethel Tigers football teams will go on the road for the first round of the high school football postseason this Friday.
As the #3 seed out of Region 3-4A, the Whippets (5-4) will face off against the #2 seed from Region 2-4A, Senatobia (8-2).
It’s a familiar trip for Kosciusko, as these two teams met just two years ago in the opening round of the 2022 4A playoffs. Senatobia won that game 17-16. This will be the fourth meeting all time between the Whippets and the Warriors. Kosciusko holds a 2-1 lead in the series.
The Ethel Tigers (4-6) are the #4 seed from Region 6-1A. That forces the a showdown with the District Champs of Region 7-7A, the Taylorsville Tartars (4-5).
This will be the first meeting all time between the Tigers and the Tartars.
Both games are scheduled to be played Friday night at 7:00 pm.
