Whippets Baseball Ends Season with Heart-Breaker

The Kosciusko Whippets baseball team traveled to Pontotoc for their final game against the Warriors Monday evening.  Everything was on the line.  Whoever won Monday night’s matchup would face the waiting Ripley Tigers in the high-school baseball quarter finals.

The game started with back-to-back clashes.  Kosciusko started off with a home run.  Pontotoc answered with two runs.  It was so fierce that there were four lead changes in the first two innings; the score becoming 4-3, Pontotoc, after two innings completed.

After that, Pontotoc never relinquished the lead again.  Despite many men on base, Kosciusko just couldn’t pull enough of them home.  The final score of the final game of the Kosciusko High School baseball season was 8-4.
