Whippets Fall to Warriors in Extra Innings

The Kosciusko Whippets Baseball team back on Whippet Field tonight to play the Nanih Waiya Warriors in a non conference High School Baseball game. The Region 4-4A Whippets enter tonight’s game 5-4 on the season while the Region 5-1A Warriors enter the contest with an 9-1 overall season record. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the 2nd inning when the Whippets put the first two runs on the scoreboard, taking a 2-0 lead in the game. The Whippets increased their lead to four runs after scoring two in the bottom of the 4th inning, 4-0. The Warriors put a run on the scoreboard in the top of the 5th inning to cut the Whippets lead to three runs, 4-1. The top of the 6th inning belonged to the Warriors,scoring three runs to tie the game at 4-4. The game remained tied going into the final inning, the Warriors were unable to score in the top of the inning giving the Whippets a chance to win it in the bottom of the 7th inning, but with 2 outs and the bases loaded, the Whippets failed to score sending the game into extra innings. It was quickly realized that the Warriors play best in the 8th inning as they added another 5 runs to take a 9-4 lead in the game. The Whippets were unable to add any runs in the bottom of the 8th inning giving the Warriors the extra innings win by the final score of 9-4 over the Whippets. Justin Nunn was named tonight’s Autumn Ridge Dental Player of the game.
