Whippets Win First Game of Baseball Playoffs

The Kosciusko Whippets baseball team hosted the Amory Panthers in the first game of the 2024 Region 4A playoffs.  The home team comes into the post season with a record of 14-10, 7-1 in district play.

Amory came roaring out the starting gate with four runs in the top of the first inning.  The Whippets came back, slowly, until they led 6-5 after five.  And that became the final.  The Kosciusko Whippets have won the first game of a hopefully long playoff season!

Aidan Howard was named the Autumn Ridge Player of the Game.  Now, that’s something to smile about!

Join us for another exciting playoff game tomorrow, Saturday afternoon, with first pitch scheduled for two p.m.  The Whippets will be traveling to Itawamba Community College, which is hosting Amory’s home game as Amory’s facilities are out for storm damage.  All Whippets baseball broadcasts are available on Breezy 101, breezynews.com, the Breezy News app, and video, when available, on the Boswell Media Sports YouTube channel.
