Yates returns to KHS as Big Red Band Director

Kosciusko Native, Jesse Yates, has been named Big Red Band Director.  Mr. Yates served as the Big Red Drum Major for three years during his time at Kosciusko High School. He continued his educational journey at Mississippi State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Throughout his career, Mr. Yates has held leadership positions at various educational institutions, including Ethel High School, Oak Hill Academy, Starkville Academy, Louisville High School, and Kosciusko High School, where he notably led the band to a MHSAA 4A State Marching Championship in 2016.

As Mr. Yates assumes his role as the new Band Director for the Big Red Band, Kosciusko High School eagerly anticipates the continued growth and success of its music program under his guidance.

    Is this the same Jesse Yates that played in the Holmes county pea pickers?

    I was in the band and he was my band director at ethel
