A highly involved student at Kosciusko High School, Zenovia has demonstrated leadership and commitment through various academic and extracurricular activities. Reflecting on her high school journey, Zenovia credits Courtney Sanders and her teachers for being her biggest influences. “When I didn’t feel like I was gonna make it very far or make it at all, she always pushed me to keep going,” she shared. This encouragement has fueled her passion for education and service.

After graduation, Zenovia plans to attend Lee University in Cleveland, TN, where she will major in Early Childhood Education with a minor in worship ministry/music. Looking ahead, she envisions herself teaching children and engaging in ministry—fulfilling what she believes is her calling.

When asked about her advice to underclassmen, Zenovia emphasized the importance of authenticity and perseverance. “Don’t be afraid to be who you are. Work hard even when it doesn’t seem like you are getting anywhere. Love anyway!”

Graduation brings a mix of emotions for Zenovia, who describes feeling excited, nervous, and sad as she prepares to leave her home and support system. However, she remains hopeful about the future and the impact she hopes to leave at KHS. “I want to have shown Jesus’ love through my actions and words,” she said.

Volunteering at the LEAP Center has been especially meaningful for Zenovia. “I have enjoyed being able to pour into the kids. It makes my heart happy when I see them outside LEAP and they remember me, speak to me, and give me a hug,” she shared.

The LEAP Center coordinator, Kim Mitchell, expressed her appreciation for Zenovia’s dedication, stating, “We are so proud of all that Zenovia has done to help the students in the Kosciusko School District. Her kindness, dedication, and passion for service have made a lasting impact.”
