PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss.–Part of the Natchez Trace Parkway was closed Sunday afternoon due to a fire.
The fire was at Pharr Mounds in Prentiss County and was reported about 1:15 p.m.

February 25, 2024 at 8:55 PMWow that’s a pretty big fire I’m just cn this n I’m from Prentiss co that’s a lot of smoke it’s very good they closed that section due to visibility that could have caused major accidents I hope they have it all under control it’s crazy how wet it has been n still had a forest fire that goes to show no matter how wet the ground is we should still b very precautious with any type of fire including cigarettes fireworks and grills when dumping grill ashes make sure all embers
r completely extinguished cause the smallest ember can lead to situations like this hope everyone involved n this area and putting out that fire is ok n no one was injured.
