The Kosciusko Whippets traveled to Pontotoc Friday night to face the Warriors in the first game of the second round of the high school baseball playoffs.  Having beaten Clarksdale in back-to-back games, the home team hoped to continue their streak.

But the Warriors showed that they weren’t first in their division for nothing.  It was a fierce scrap but, when the dust cleared, the Warriors had come out on top with a final score of 6-1.

Tyler Van Cise was named the Autumn Ridge Player of the Game.

The second game in the best-of-three series will be played in Kosciusko Saturday night.  The game will be broadcast on Breezy101,, and the BreezyNews app with the first pitch scheduled for 7PM and the pre-game show starting at 6:45.
