SALLIS, Miss.–Multiple vehicles that were blocking the highway and the parking lot near the Dollar General in Sallis, were towed Saturday night.
Attala County deputies responded to several calls from Hwy. 431, beginning about 7:30 p.m. when people who were parked at an event were parked on the highway and, according to the manager at the store who called in, were blocking access to the parking lot.
That store manager gave people a chance to move before requesting they be towed from the property.
Deputies also called for tow trucks for vehicles that were parked on the highway, beyond the white lines.
Deputies began calling in tags for the offending vehicles and wreckers from several services began sending trucks.
It wasn’t clear exactly how many cars were towed, but it was a process that took at least two hours, according to police radio communication.
