Entergy Mississippi volunteers are spreading across the service area to give back to customers and help fight the summer temperatures during Beat the Heat Day.
The company is teaming up with local community action groups in Attala, Claiborne, Hinds and Sunflower counties to host first come, first serve giveaways.
At each Beat the Heat Day location, Entergy customers with proof of residency in the service area will receive free a box fan and energy efficiency kit, while supplies last. Customers will also have the opportunity to take advantage of energy-saving tips for their home, and cooling stations.
In Attala County, the event will be held Wednesday, July 2, at noon at the Oprah Winfrey Boys and Girls Club.
Entergy Mississippi leaders will also announce this year’s donation to The Power to Care, an important program that provides bill assistance to older adult customers and customers with disabilities.
