With the Kosciusko Whippets set to host the Corinth Warriors this Friday in a crucial third-round playoff game, the town is gearing up for one of its biggest displays of school spirit yet.
Community leaders and Whippet supporters are calling on every resident, business, and organization to “wrap the town in maroon” in the days leading up to kickoff.
Storefronts, office windows, and lawns across Kosciusko are being urged to feature signs, banners, and decorations showing unwavering support for the home team.
“Let’s create a wave of excitement and unity as we stand behind our players,” organizers said in a statement. “We want our Whippets to feel the full force of this community when they take the field.”
The centerpiece of the campaign is a town-wide “MAROON OUT” on game day.
Students, teachers, employees, and fans of all ages are encouraged to wear maroon—no matter where they are—to send a visible message that Kosciusko stands united behind its team.
Friday’s matchup marks the deepest playoff run for the Whippets in recent years, and residents are determined to make the atmosphere at Whippet Stadium electric.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Friday at Landrum Field. Whippet faithful are reminded to arrive early, wear maroon, and bring plenty of noise as the community comes together for one of the biggest games of the season.
