The Mississippi Department of Public Safety has announced that the Kosciusko Driver Services Station will be closed Monday, Jan. 26, due to winter weather impacting central and northern parts of the state.
The closure is part of a broader statewide response, with Northern and Central Region Driver Services locations shutting down for the day. Southern Region offices will open at 10:00 a.m. instead of their normal schedule.
Closures on January 26, 2026, include:
Batesville, Canton, Cleveland, Columbus, Corinth, Greenville, Greenwood, Grenada, Jackson, Kosciusko, Meridian, Nesbit, New Albany, Newton, Olive Branch, Oxford, Pearl, Philadelphia, Richland, Starkville, Tupelo, and Vicksburg.
Delayed openings at 10:00 a.m. on January 26, 2026, include:
Biloxi, Brookhaven, Gautier, Gulfport-Airport, Hattiesburg, Hattiesburg West, Laurel, Kiln, Natchez, and Picayune.
“Winter weather has impacted central and north Mississippi. We encourage everyone to stay home, stay warm, and avoid travel if possible,” said Commissioner Sean Tindell. “We are taking precautions to protect our employees while continuing essential services, and keeping everyone safe as our top priority. I would also like to thank all first responders and frontline workers for their service during this winter weather storm.”
