Several local baseball and softball teams are moving on to the second round of the MHSAA postseason.
All four local teams — Kosciusko baseball (No. 1 seed), Kosciusko softball (No. 1 seed), Ethel softball (No. 2 seed), and Ethel baseball (No. 4 seed) — have advanced to the second round of the postseason. A notable result from the opening round saw Ethel baseball, the No. 4 seed, earn an upset win over No. 1 seed Riverside to keep their playoff run alive.
Due to expected rain across the area this weekend, many of the second-round games and series have been adjusted to begin on Thursday instead of the originally scheduled dates.
