The Kosciusko Whippets began play in the 3rd round of the North Semi-final baseball game playing game one of a series with the Vikings of North Pontotoc. The Whippets put the first run on the scoreboard in the bottom of the opening inning but the Vikings scored 3 runs in the top of the 2nd to take a 3-1 early lead in the game. Kosciusko closed the gap, scoring another run in the bottom of the 3rd inning cutting Pontotoc’s lead to 1 run. The Vikings scored 1 run in the 5th and 1 in the 6th to increase their lead to 3 runs, 5-2. The Whippets scored another run in the bottom of the 7th inning but the win goes to the Vikings , 5-3 in game one. Aidan Howard was named tonight’s Autumn Ridge Dental player of the game. Kosciusko will travel to North Pontotoc for game two of the series tomorrow night with the first pitch set for 7:00pm. Breezy 103 will broadcast the game live with video streaming on breeznews.com.
