Kosciusko Fire Department Conducts Rappelling Training

SHARE NOW

The Kosciusko Fire Department closed off the bridge on N Jackson St. near the Fire Station to train some of their firefighters on rappelling.

Captain Scott West held the ropes as Lieutenant Curtis Pope, Chris Mosely, and Cole Wilson took turns rappelling down the side of the bridge.

This training allows fire fighters to learn the skills they’ll need if they need to perform a recovery or a rescue. These maneuvers often involve flipping upside down to better reach whatever, or whoever, they’re trying to recover.
