1:30 p.m. – Kid & Pet Parade lineup begins

2:00 p.m.

  • Kid & Pet Parade steps off
  • Games & activities begin (running until 8:15 p.m.)
  • Celebrate America 250 officially opens

3:00 p.m.

  • Historical demonstrations begin (3 p.m. – 5 p.m.)
  • Cornhole Tournament begins ($10 per team)

5:00 p.m.

6:00 p.m.

  • Veterans Recognition Ceremony
  • Remarks by Mississippi Speaker of the House Jason White

6:30 p.m.

Throughout the Day

  • Performances by The Dance Company
  • Entertainment from Kosy Pops
  • Classic car display from the Kosy Kruisers
  • Food trucks and vendors

8:15 p.m.

  • Games and activities conclude

8:30 p.m.

  • Fireworks Finale

Directly after fireworks and the 2026 Winner of Mississippi Songwriter of the Year is announced

  • Mississippi Songwriter of the Year After Party at The Jefferson Street Social. No cover at the door. Live music and food and drinks available for purchase.

Celebrate America 250 commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States with the theme “Honoring Our Past, Inspiring Our Future.”

With family activities downtown and the Mississippi Songwriter of the Year finals at The Guitar Academy that evening, June 27 promises to be a full day of entertainment in Kosciusko.
