Dr. Seuss is the inspiration of this year’s performance put on by the Ann Harper Richardson Summer Performing Arts Camp. The performers have been hard at work perfecting their choreography and songs this week. The musical is primarily inspired by Horton Hears a Who, Gertrude McFuzz, and Horton Hatches the Egg. There are also some aspects of Seuss’ other works too, including Green Eggs and Ham, and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Seussical the Musical will be performed at 5:00 PM on Friday, June 26 at the Skipworth Performing Arts Center in Kosciusko.
This summer program started in 2022, and Sarah Walker, who leads it, has referred to it as the biggest blessing in her life. The first year they started out with twelve performers- eight kids and four helpers. In every year since, their cast size has doubled. In 2025 the camp was renamed in honor of Ann Harper Richardson after her death earlier that year, carrying on her legacy.
