HEAT ADVISORY (Today through Wednesday) shown in orange on map above
EXTREME HEAT WARNING (for Wednesday) shown in purple
The heat advisory for most of this area has been extended through tomorrow. Heat index readings between 106 and 110 degrees are expected. And part of western Mississippi including Holmes County will see the heat advisory upgraded to an extreme heat warning tomorrow with heat index values which could exceed 110.
Some showers and thunderstorms will be possible moving from east to west tomorrow meaning that any chance of relief from the heat will be slow to arrive in the western counties. A few storms are possible today with a Level-1 “marginal” risk of isolated severe storms generally along the I-59 corridor.
