Mississippi Blood Services is urging eligible donors to help replenish a critically low blood supply, with a community blood drive scheduled in Kosciusko later this month.
The blood drive will be held at Sunflower Grocery Store in Kosciusko July 23 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
Mississippi Blood Services says donors—especially those with A, B and O blood types—are needed immediately to help ensure hospitals across the state have lifesaving blood products available for patients.
As a thank-you, presenting donors at participating community blood drives will receive a gift at the time of donation. In addition, anyone who donates blood or platelets during July at a Mississippi Blood Services donor center or community blood drive will automatically be entered into the Help Fuel the Blood Supply giveaway for a chance to win one of five $250 Visa gift cards, with one winner selected each week.
Anyone not able to attend the Kosciusko blood drive can find additional donation opportunities throughout July at locations across central Mississippi.
