Attala County School District (ACSD) announced that all students enrolled in the district will receive healthy school meals at no cost during the 2026–2027 school year.
Through the USDA’s Provision 2 program, ACSD will provide free breakfast and lunch across participating schools, including Ethel High School, Greenlee Elementary School, Long Creek Elementary School, and McAdams High School.
“Our goal is to ensure every student has access to healthy, nutritious meals that support learning, growth, and academic success,” said Neshaunda Brown, ACSD Child Nutrition Administrator.
While families are not required to complete a free and reduced-price meal application for their children to receive these daily meals, district officials note that filling one out can still be beneficial.
“Completing the application may help families qualify for other educational programs and benefits,” Brown noted.
