We’ve had some hot days in Mississippi this month but today may be one of the hottest. While a heat advisory is once again posted for most of the local area, the western edge including Holmes and Carroll counties will be back under an extreme heat warning today.
It looks like our current heat wave could be peaking today, with temperatures areawide topping out in the upper 90s with the afternoon heat index ranging from 107 in Kosciusko to 109 in Philadelphia and 110 in Carthage and Durant. Tomorrow’s high are forecast in the mid 90s with more clouds and a chance of rain moving in, with temperatures in the lower 90s on Thursday.
