The “Echoes of History: America 250 Lecture Series” continues today, Tuesday, June 16, in Kosciusko, with the next presentation set for 6 p.m.
Presented by the Attala Historical Society in celebration of America 250, the series is held each Tuesday in June at 6 p.m. at the Mary Ricks Thornton Cultural Center.
The program brings together local historians and guest speakers to explore key moments, places, and people that helped shape the history of Attala County and Mississippi, connecting local stories to the broader history of the United States as part of the nationwide America 250 commemoration.
Today’s June 23 lecture is titled “From Trace to Trade: The Economic Story of Kosciusko & Attala County”
- This program will explore the economic history of Kosciusko and Attala County, from the earliest days along the Trace to the growth of commerce, agriculture, and industry that shaped the community.
All events are free and open to the public.
