Homecoming Week is officially here, and the Kosciusko School District is calling on the local business community to help turn the town maroon.

KSD’s 2026 Homecoming festivities will run Sept. 14 -18, featuring a week packed with tradition, school spirit, and community-wide pride.

The main highlight of the week will take place Tuesday, Sept. 15, when the annual Kosciusko Whippets Homecoming Parade rolls through the historic Downtown Kosciusko Square starting at 6:30 p.m.

District officials are aiming to expand this year’s celebration beyond school grounds, urging local shops, offices, and organizations to deck out their storefronts and display windows in maroon to support the students.

“Get creative, have fun, and help us create an atmosphere that lets our students know their community is behind them,” the district shared in an official announcement.

Participating businesses will be evaluated and recognized across three contest categories:

Shops with marquees or outdoor digital signs are also encouraged to display messages of encouragement throughout the week, such as “Go Whippets!”, “Whippet Pride!”, or “Paint Kosciusko Maroon!”

The festivities will cap off Friday, Sept. 18, with a community-wide “Wear Maroon Day.”

KSD invites all residents and employees across town to wear maroon to work and around Kosciusko to show unified support ahead of the homecoming game.
