Burning During the Ban Earns Homeowner a Citation

A homeowner on Attala Rd. 4230 was issued a citation for unlawful burning after a backyard debris fire got out of control.

The fire spread beneath an abandoned vehicle, threatened the home, and moved into nearby woods. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze.

The incident serves as another reminder of the dangers of outdoor burning while Attala County is under a burn ban.
