First responders were dispatched to a crash around mile marker 164 on the Natchez Trace this morning.
The vehicle was traveling south before leaving the roadway for no apparent reason, striking a tree head-on and heavily entrapping the driver, who is reportedly in critical condition. His passenger suffered only minor injuries and refused medical care.
Tim Cox, the Attala County Fire Chief, stated that his crew did an excellent job removing the driver from the wreckage as quickly as they did.

The critically injured man is my child’s father, so I want to thank all of the first responders for everything they did to get him out of the vehicle as quickly as they did. I’d also like to ask anyone who reads this to please pray for him because unfortunately he’s in very bad shape and we’re being told he may not make it. I believe in the power of God and the power of prayer, so please take a minute and pray for him and the rest of his family, especially his children as we need all the prayers we can get. Thank you and God bless!
