I absolutely love this idea. I live on a rural gravel road and people use to do this all the time because there are bridges and deep ditches. The local sheriff dept did the exact same thing after there was so much trash under one bridge, it had stopped drainage on one of the properties. It only took him finding one or two identifying markers on some of the items and making the people who owned them accountable, before it slowly stopped happening after word got around.

This was great law enforcement while giving the people a chance to correct their poor choice. Doing it this way not only taught a lesson while the situation was fresh, but also saved the taxpayers the money of judicial processing these people. Restorative justice as it should be.

Hopefully they took the lesson to heart and did not misinterpret the lesson as ‘getting off easy’. Nevertheless, good job Attala Sheriff’s Department.
