KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–Firefighters had to call for Attala County deputies while on a call Saturday afternoon on Attala Rd. 1106, because of some type of disturbance where gunshots could be heard at a nearby house.
Attala County Fire Chief Tim Cox said that happened just after 4 p.m.
A controlled burn had gotten out of hand and spread into the woods behind a house. While firefighters were getting that under control they could shouting and gunshots.
Once deputies arrived they were able to get the situation resolved. No arrests were reported.
However the situation with the fire was not resolved quite as easily.
While deputies were about to leave the fire on Rd. 1106 they got another call about a fire on Hwy. 471 and when they responded discovered that a previous fire had rekindled and damaged a storage building and other structures were in danger.
Before the fire was able to get to a second building they were able to get it contained.
