KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–You may soon be able to enjoy the Strand Theater in Kosciusko, a restoration and renovation project that has been in the works for more than ten years.
Kosciusko Mayor Tim Kyle said the contract for the final phase of construction was awarded last week.
“This has been a long time coming. I think the city has had possession of that building for about 15 years,” he said. “We’ve just been fortunate enough that we were able to acquire the funds to finish this building.”
The contract was awarded to Ramsey Construction at the Board of Alderman meeting.
“Oddly enough they are the same company that has worked on this building from day one. So, they know this building inside and out,” he said.
Kyle said if construction stays in schedule the renovation could be wrapped by late next summer.

November 25, 2025 at 3:18 PMKO does not need that desperately. We do not have a high population of homeless people here. Out of the whole of Attala County, there’s like what.. maybe 6 homeless people? And only 2 or 3 are homeless not by choice. People need to stop trying to make something true that just isn’t true.
