Members of the 1974 Kosciusko High School baseball team will meet this weekend to celebrate 50 years since winning state championship.
The team will be recognized Saturday, March 23 prior to the Kosciusko Whippets varsity game against Choctaw County at 1:00 pm. Additionally, the team will meet that night at Jason’s Southern Table at 5:00 pm. All classmates and other friends of the program from that season are invited to attend each of the events.
The 1974 team finished 17-2 and won the Class A state championship against Poplarville High School. That team was coached by Ted Milton, who would lead the team to another state championship appearance in 1975 as well.
During Tuesday night’s meeting of the Kosciusko Board of Aldermen, a resolution was passed to honor the team. Copies of that resolution will be presented to the player’s this weekend.
