3 Whippets baseball players earn All-State honors

Kosciusko baseball placed three players on the MAC Class 4A All-State teams after a season that ended in the 4A North State Championship Series.

Junior pitcher J.D. Cummins earned First Team honors, finishing the season with a 2.00 ERA in 42 innings, striking out 75 batters while allowing just 22 hits.

Senior utility player Aiden Howard also made First Team after a strong two-way season. At the plate he hit .366 with a 1.086 OPS, 4 HR, 33 RBI, and 43 runs. On the mound, he added a 2.17 ERA in 19.1 innings and 22 strikeouts.

Senior pitcher Braxton Smith earned Second Team honors after a dominant year on the mound, posting a 1.54 ERA over 45.1 innings with 74 strikeouts.

The trio helped lead Kosciusko through a strong postseason run that ended in the 4A North State Championship Series, marking a standout year for the program.
