You may have noticed several law enforcement entities out and about on the evening of Thursday, May 30th. The Attala County Sheriff’s Office has issued the following press release regarding the recent activity.
The Attala County Sheriff’s Office along with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Mississippi Highway Patrol, and Kosciusko Police Department conducted a saturation detail on the night of Thursday, May 30. At least 20 law enforcement officers from these agencies participated.
A saturation detail is a proactive tool to deter and prevent crime by increasing law enforcement presence in the community. This operation resulted in 4 felony narcotics arrests, over 30 traffic citations, and multiple misdemeanor narcotics charges.
Sheriff Curtis Pope would like to thank all of the agencies and officers that participated. We will continue to implement plans such as this with the goal of making Attala County safer for all residents.
