The Attala County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about scam phone calls from someone falsely claiming to represent the Sheriff’s Office.
The caller is reportedly using the phone number 662-674-3608. When the number is called back, the voicemail message also claims to be the Attala County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials want the public to know these calls are not legitimate.
You should use caution, do not sharing personal or financial information, and never send money to someone claiming to be with law enforcement.
Anyone receiving a suspicious call is encouraged to hang up and contact the Attala County Sheriff’s Office directly through its official phone number, 662-289-5556.
