The City of Kosciusko has announced the return of Municipal Court Amnesty Days, giving residents an opportunity to clear outstanding fines while having additional fees waived.
During the designated amnesty period, fees for Contempt of Court and Failure to Appear will be waived for individuals who come in and pay their original fines.
Kosciusko Mayor Tim Kyle discussed the program during the most recent episode of Minute with the Mayor on Breezy 103, emphasizing the financial relief it can provide.
“Those fees can add up, so this gives people a chance to take care of what they owe without incurring those other costs.Even if there’s a warrant for you, you can come in and take care of this.”
Kyle added that the goal of the program is to help residents resolve old court matters without the added stress of extra penalties.
Amnesty Days will run from Feb.18 – March 31.
