The deceased has been identified as Barry Lindsey Jr., 46 of Attala. Coroner Sam Bell has ordered an autopsy to determine cause of death.
A body was discovered by a machine operator in a logging area on Attala Rd. 2101 on the afternoon of Thursday, August 1, 2024.
The Attala County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
As of now, the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the family.
