A two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Hwy. 35 and S. Huntington St. around 4:45 Tuesday afternoon caused some confusion regarding which first responders should be dispatched.
There was a fire in the cab of one of the vehicles. It’s not clear how the fire started, but it was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported.
The city limits are near that area, so initially the Kosciusko Fire Department and Kosciusko Police were dispatched along with EMS. When it was realized that the wreck technically occurred in the county, Attala County Fire, Attala County deputies, and MHP were called to work the crash.
