A driver fled on foot after leading Attala County deputies on a chase Sunday night. Deputies attempted to stop a red Chevrolet pickup truck at approximately 9:30 p.m., but the driver refused to stop. A pursuit followed, with speeds reaching up to 85 mph.
The chase traveled from Attala Road 4114 toward Attala Road 4221 before continuing onto Highway 12 toward Kosciusko. The pursuit passed through McAdams before turning onto Attala Road 4167. The vehicle stopped on Attala Road 4101, and the driver abandoned the truck and fled on foot.
The driver was not taken into custody at the scene. The pickup truck was towed, and the Attala County Sheriff’s Office expects to make an arrest in connection with the incident.
