A woman was hospitalized following a crash that occurred in the early morning on Hwy 12 between McAdams and Sallis.
Attala County Communications received a notification from the vehicle’s emergency feature just after 1:00 a.m. and notified Attala Deputies, Attala County Fire Department, EMS, and MS Hwy Patrol.
According to Fire Chief Tim Cox, the vehicle left the road and collided head-on with a tree, trapping the driver inside.
Firefighters successfully extricated her from the vehicle, and she was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
While she sustained serious injuries, authorities say she is expected to survive.
