Durant native and former Holmes Community College Bulldog DJ Montgomery has signed with the NFL’s Cleveland Browns as a free agent.
After finishing his high school career at Madison Central, Montgomery helped lead the 2016 Holmes CC Bulldogs to a victory in the Graphic Edge Bowl and a top 10 final ranking the NJCAA poll. He was named the offensive MVP of the bowl game and First Team All MACJC.
After Holmes, Montgomery played two seasons at Austin Peay State in Clarksville, TN. During his senior season, Montgomery caught 42 passes for 797 yards and 10 touchdowns.
