Two students from Ethel High School have been selected for a competitive statewide leadership program through the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office.
Jodie Black and Meredith Moudy will serve as 2026–2027 Secretary of State Student Ambassadors, a program that brings together high school seniors from across Mississippi to develop civic knowledge and leadership skills.
The initiative is designed to prepare students for active roles in their schools and communities through hands-on learning experiences focused on civic responsibility, the electoral process, and public service. Participants take part in statewide summits and engage with state and local leaders throughout the year.
Selection for the program is competitive and based on academic achievement, leadership potential, and community involvement.
School and district officials noted the selection highlights both students’ accomplishments and their commitment to service.
