Former Holmes Community College standout and current University of Miami offensive lineman Markel Bell has earned an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine, placing him among the nation’s top draft prospects.
The Combine will be held Feb. 26 through March 2 in Indianapolis, Indiana, at Lucas Oil Stadium, bringing together the top eligible college football players from across the country for one of the NFL’s premier pre-draft evaluation events.
Bell, who played at Holmes for the 2022 & 2023 seasons, will have the opportunity to showcase his skills in front of scouts, coaches, and executives from all 32 NFL teams.
Offensive linemen at the Combine are evaluated through a combination of strength testing, athletic drills, and on-field positional work, including the bench press, 40-yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, three-cone drill, shuttle run, and position-specific blocking drills. Teams also place heavy emphasis on medical evaluations and in-depth interviews, which play a major role in draft decisions.
After transferring from Holmes, Bell continued his career at the University of Miami, where he became a reliable presence along the offensive line, helping lead the Hurricanes to an appearance in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
Bell’s performance in Indianapolis could significantly impact his draft stock, with strong results potentially boosting his chances of being selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.
