Gas Prices in MS Starting to Fall

After reaching their highest level since May, gas prices in Mississippi are beginning to come down.  AAA says the statewide average has dropped about four and a half  cents since peaking at $4.01 on Saturday.  Locally, only four counties are averaging  below $4– Neshoba and Montgomery at $3.97 and Holmes and Leake at $3.98.   The auto club says Winston is averaging $4.01 and Choctaw $4.03.  The average price countywide in Attala is $4.06 and in Carroll County, $4.08.   GasBuddy.com says the lowest price it’s found at an individual gas station in this area is $3.81 in Philadelphia.   In Carthage, gas is selling for as little as $3.84 a gallon, in Louisville it’s $3.89 and Kosciusko’s lowest price, according to the phone app, is $3.94.
