Residents across the City of Kosciusko are being encouraged to roll up their sleeves and take part in the Mayor’s Youth Council Community Cleanup Day, happening today from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
To support the effort, Waste Management has placed a large dumpster at the Attala County Coliseum, offering residents a convenient, no-cost location to dispose of debris and unwanted household items.
City officials remind participants that while most common items are accepted, certain materials — including paint, batteries, chemicals, and tires — cannot be dropped off due to safety and environmental regulations.
Throughout the morning, members of the Mayor’s Youth Council will also be positioned along local roadways, removing litter and working to beautify the community. Drivers are urged to slow down, remain alert, and use caution as volunteers carry out their cleanup efforts.
City leaders say the annual event is an important opportunity for residents to come together and take pride in their surroundings.
