This last full week of summer continues to see some above-normal heat in Mississippi. Greenville and Greenwood both hit 100 yesterday. That broke the record set in Greenwood 46 years ago and tied the record in Greenville, both of those highs 12 degrees above normal.
Much of the local area will be back under a heat advisory today. Among the counties included, Attala, Holmes, Carroll, Montgomery and Choctaw. Temperatures this afternoon will climb into the mid to upper 90s with a heat index up to 105.
