The National Weather Service in Jackson is warning residents of central Mississippi to be prepared for heavy rain beginning Tuesday and lasting through the remainder of the week.
Attala and other counties in the Breezy News coverage area could see anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of rainfall.
Residents in the watch area should prepare for the possibility of flooded roads, rivers, and creeks.
The National Weather Service also reminds anyone traveling to never drive through flooded roads. Turn around. Don’t drown.
While the greatest threat this week will be just heavy rain, southern portions of the Breezy News coverage area could see severe storms Tuesday as the weather system begins to impact the state.
