A new bill in the Mississippi House would allow the state to assist the Holmes County Consolidated School District with funding for a football stadium and related facilities.
House Bill 272, sponsored by Representative Bryant W. Clark (D‑District 47), proposes the use of state general obligation bonds to cover costs for construction, land purchase, and necessary infrastructure.
The bill was introduced in January 2026 and is currently under review by the House Ways and Means Committee.
Supporters say the project could provide updated athletic facilities for students and the community.
Representative Clark has previously sponsored other initiatives aimed at supporting education and local infrastructure in Holmes County.
