At 11:49 am Ethel Volunteers, MedStat EMS along with Attala Fire Central Station responded to a report of a structure fire on Attala Road 5207 off of highway 19 south near highway 14.
Dwain Steed with Attala Emergency Management notified responding units that heavy smoke could be seen approximately 3 miles from the location.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene to find the double wide home with heavy flames showing from inside the structure.
Firefighters battled the blaze and were able to contain the flames by 1:48 pm.
No one was home at the time. A passerby on a side by side saw the home on fire and reported it to authorities.
There is no word on to the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.
The Attala County Fire Department will be in charge of the investigation.
