The Attala County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit, recently made a visit to Ethel High School.
Sheriff Tim Nail and Sergeant Scott Walters accompanied Victor, the department’s drug dog, to the school to get him acclimated to the surroundings and procedures. The deputies also demonstrated how Victor is used to search for drugs.
Walters spoke to five classes of Drug Education students on the dangers and legal consequences of using drugs.
Victor, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois, has been with the department since April.
He is trained in tracking, apprehension and evidence collection.
