KPD makes multiple drug arrests

The Kosciusko Police Department has made multiple drug arrests

Chief of Police Herbert Dew said over the last two weeks his officers made the following drug arrests:

  • On July 24, 2018, Cortez Lamar Simmons, a 22 year old b/m from Kosciusko, was arrested for possession of marijuana (felony) and 2 counts of felony possession of a controlled Substance on Grove Street by KPD Investigators.
  • On July 19, 2018, Jason Clark Elmore, a 23 year old b/m from, was arrested for Possession of  Controlled Substance with Intent, Possession of Paraphernalia, Disregard for Traffic Device and No Proof of Liability Insurance on South Wells Street by Lt. Josh Pinkard.
  • On July 22, 2018, Kezean Martece Ross, a 27 year old b/m from Kosciusko, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana (felony,) possession of paraphernalia, failure to stop and 14 other traffic related offenses, on Highway 35 North by Lt. Josh Pinkard.
  • On 7-13-2018 Jeremy Rayford, a 26 y.o b/m from Kosciusko was arrested for Carless Driving and Possession of Marijuana (Felony) on Elm Street by Lt. Jamie Eaves.
  • Officers also recovered drugs from Johnny Dotson, who is currently wanted by the police department.

Dew said officers recovered close to one pound of marijuana, 36.8 grams of ICE, over 250 dosage units of ecstasy, a small amount of crack-cocaine, three firearms, and $898 in cash.

According to Dew, most of the arrests were made as a result of routine traffic stops.
